Our EDM and Small components department was assembled to combat the need to go oversees to be competitive. While others are shipping
their small lifters and inserts oversees we are striving to improve efficiency to allow us to reduce the cost of producing
them in house. The major benefit of merging this department is communication and optimum efficiency. Most small components such as lifters,
slides and inserts require EDM, so by having the same personnel engaged in the manufacture of these components from raw blocks right through to
EDM we are able to eliminate communication breakdown from one process to another. This allows us to easily set up the process of CNC machining
the components in a way that also benefits the EDM of those same pieces. With our V10 high speed graphite machining centre and
V11 components machining centre we are able to seamlessly transition to one of our three EDM machines. The diversity in size between
our three EDM machines allows us to EDM small components such as lifters, inserts and speaker grilles to small/medium sized molds, up to door panel
molds and fascias. All carbon is modeled and programmed solely by the department. Once again MSI continues to ensure that regardless of the task
at hand, we have what we need on our shop floor to get the job done, efficiently and with the highest level of quality.
